Please note, this event has been
cancelled by the organisers.
Scotland has a long and distinguished motorsport pedigree with rolling R’s resounding in names like McRae, Stewart, Coulthard, Clark, Franchitti and Di Resta, not to mention Crail and The Rest & Be Thankful.
But until recently the Scottish Rally has been confined to a dreary weekend in the borders, and the Scottish Motorshow, to little more than a dealership bonanza at Knockhill. It has taken a titanic effort by passionate car and motorsport fans to capture the attention of some of the best event organisers in Britain, leading to the hugely popular Ignition Festival in Glasgow, and the extraordinary Concours of Elegance at Holyroodhouse.
Now, for the first time, the achievements of Scotland’s motorsport heroes will be celebrated at a brand new festival scheduled for 2nd and 3rd June 2018. The inaugural Argyll Festival of Performance, hosted by the Duke of Argyll in the grounds of Inveraray Castle, will bring together cars, teams, drivers, and fans in a two-day party of petrol-headonism.
Think of it like Goodwood but with better scenery.
Tickets are now on sale. With each ticket purchased a donation will be made to the Jim Clark Trust. For those who hope to arrive in something a bit special, there will be a designated “Interesting Car Park” – free to owners of eligible pre-1999 cars who book in advance.
More details on the cars and stars will be reported in the new year, but there will be an Auction, a Concours D’Elegance and a host of Car Clubs on the grounds, promising a fantastic day out in a beautiful part of the country.
